Jerry Odom (NoXcuse Boxing) also competed in the finals today at 178lbs. but lost a close bout 3-2 to Caleb Plant (Knoxville).
Denver's "King" Louie Byrd (Backyard Brawlers) won his 4th consecutive National Golden Gloves title in four different weight classes. This is a first in the history of the tournament. The tournament has been held without interruption since 1928!!
Tramaine "Midget" Williams (Ring One) also secured his spot at the US Olympic Team Trials in the 123lbs. division.
