201+ division preliminary between 2006 Under-19 Champino, 2007 US Champion and 2008 US Olympic team member Michael Hunter vs. 2008 U.S. Future Stars Champion Lenroy Thompson from Denver, CO. Hunter is in the red corner. Hunter was the winner on pts, but a protest on behalf of Thompson was filed immediately after the bout concerning Hunter's handwraps. Hunter was DQ'd because of "illegal wraps" only to be reinstated after arbitration two days later, which delayed the 2nd 201+ semifinal bout. Hunter would go on to win the US Nationals that Saturday night.
